The Look of Fear

Last Sunday was a sort of stormy one for us. I, as always, was excited for a good storm, and slightly disappointed it wasn't actually much of a storm.

Hailey on the other hand was not happy. She was extra unhappy that the Man left the house. He seems to bring her more comfort than I do. She didn't go into her cave but spent much of the day in the games room on her recliner. When Man did get home, she was glued to him (and constantly in the way while he was making dinner).

Tuesday night was windy again, and Hailey found comfort being locked in the closet, so we all got some sleep.

Phod's vet appointment is in a week. Hopefully our vet will have some helpful suggestions.

  3. It is odd in all my years of having dogs I have never had one that has been scared of storms, thunder or fireworks - maybe because I get all my dogs at 6.8 weeks and work to desensitize them.....but sadly with adopted and rescue dogs you never really know their past history and what frightened them

I had Jade from puphood and despite all best trainings and conditionings, the one thing she couldn't really deal with was thunder. Heavy wind would have her looking a bit like Hailey here, but not to the same extent as with thunder. Thankfully, it wasn't much more than half dozen times a year that such storms came. I too hope your vet has some suggestions for you. YAM xx

  15. Our hairy slobbery sister Cinnamon hates Thunder! Wes has a Thunder Shirt that wes puts on when she is really distressed. Mostly she hides in the bathroom behind the toilet. Mommy says it is a mixed blessing as it means she keeps the bathroom clean!
We sends Hailey special calming kisses

  18. Oh gurl! I am so sorry. I hopes that the vettie can help you. Last night I was actin' all weird, and Ma couldn't figure it out, I would just sit there and stare at her like Eddie from Fraiser. I really don't do that, so Ma was stressed tryin' to figure out what was wrong and how to fix it. Just a little taste of what your peeps are goin' through. {{hugs}}} to them! (oh, Ma thinks it was gas BTW, she gave me some gas pills and an hour later I was better....☺) Since we can't talk, it's tough! I thinks we need a doggie/human translator device like they had on Star Trek! BOL
Anyhu, paws crossed for you Hailey!
    Kisses,
    Ruby ♥
